I bought this super sweet little wicker rocking chair at an auction in the spring. I have been battling the decision to sell it ever since. My husband thought I was crazy for buying it... but it was so adorable, I couldn't resist...
Check it out!

My Version of the TinCan Pencil Holder
I work part time as a church secretary and my desk at church needed a li'l bit of sprucing up, so I decided to make myself a new pencil holder.
So, not wanting to put any money out on the project, I used a recycled tin can. I think almost everyone at some point in their childhood made one of these right?

My Fuzzy Love Chair
A couple of weeks ago I bought this chair at a yard sale.
Then that night while eating dinner with my husband, I burst out laughing for no apparent reason. He looked at me a little weird, so I had to tell him the following story:

Repurposed Sewing Machine Desk
This sewing machine desk was a joint effort between my husband and I... I can't take all the credit this time. Unfortunately I don't have a before picture. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the desk when my husband started going at it and then he was almost done before I thought about it, (my husband is a procrastinator, and I knew I shouldn't stop him...)
Anyways, he cut the desk portion off, leaving only drawers along the one side. He removed the legs from the opposite side and attached them to the drawer section. He then took the cover off the top and cut it to fit the top of the drawers, and attached it.
I painted it a light blue/grey. The colour is called music room from CIL, but I had it colour matched at Home Hardware. I originally used this paint in my livingroom, and it looks slightly darker and bluer on my walls then it does on this piece.
I also lightly sanded around the edges to give it a slightly distressed look. I finished it off with Minwax paste wax.
The gorgeous pewter coffee pot was a $5.00 auction piece that I really love!
I think this would make a lovely nightstand. Those three drawers definitely offer a lot of storage space.

Alberta Trip
My husband and I had the opportunity last Sunday to attend his brother's wedding... in Alberta! Lucky us, we were able to fit in some sightseeing, too!
We visited Lake Louise... absolutely beautiful!
This next picture was at a picturesque garden in Banff...
We also visited Drumheller, the Royal Tyrell Dinosaur Museum, and some of the Badlands.
The wedding was held on Sunday, country style!
This is a sneak peek at my next project that I finished right before we left... be sure to come back soon!
